"The Los Angeles Printmaking Society began as a way to improve exhibition opportunities, educate the public and popularize printmaking as an art form. We try to foster communication among artists, collectors and all interested aficionados.

We publish a yearly journal, "Newsprint", and its quarterly extension, "interleaf", as well as numerous catalogs and posters. We also maintain a web site where members can exhibit their work in our cyber- gallery and where a calendar of events can be accessed. From our website one can explore many links to other printmaking sites.

LAPS is a member of the American Print Alliance, which also includes: Boston Printmakers, California Society of Printmakers, Conseil quebecois de l'estampe, Florida Printmakers Society, Honolulu Printmakers, Maryland Printmakers, Mid America Print Council, Nova Scotia Printmakers Association, Northwest Print Council, Pittsburgh Print Group, Southern Graphics Council.

Membership Categories:

Artist: annual dues: $50
Benefits: All of the above plus invitations to exhibit in numerous LAPS sponsored shows. Opportunity to exhibit work and post notices on the LAPS web site.  To qualify, candidates must submit a separate application with 6 current slides. 3 jurors choose new artist members twice a year. Check our "calendar" for the specific dates in the spring and fall.

Student : annual dues: $15
Benefits: Invitation to all openings. Subscription to "Newsprint" and"Interleaf". Reduced rates for special events. Annual
portfolio review. Annual group exhibition.

Associate: annual dues: $40
Benefits: Invitations to all openings. Subscription to "Newsprint" and "Interleaf". Reduced rates for special events. Receive all catalogs and posters published by LAPS during the year.

Patron: annual dues: $150 or $225
Benefits: Same as associate member, but patrons help support our Foundation. As such they are invited to special patron events and amy choose one or two original signed prints from our collection by artist-members.
